At the Humboldt Chamber, we fundamentally believe all citizens have a precious right to vote, and our civic engagement is essential and critical to our community’s future.
In Tennessee it has never been easier to register to vote or to cast to a vote, and the Chamber is fully committed to giving you the tools to both register to vote as well as cast your vote.
We believe in being proactive in providing information from our state and local officials to support our organization’s commitment to civic involvement.
While we may not all agree politically, we can hopefully all agree that our state and our nation are stronger when all of us register to vote and exercise our right to vote on Election Day.
We understand that there are many reasons why you may not have voted in the past, but by voting, you can have an impact on your life, your community and future generations. One thing is for certain, when you do not vote, you place the keys to our form of government in the hands of the voters that do exercise their right to vote.
If you don’t vote, you are letting other people decide who gets to represent you. Local, state and national elected officials make decisions that affect our lives every day, including roads, schools, healthcare, parks and more.
While your vote may not be the deciding vote in an election, your vote still makes a difference especially in state and local elections. In Tennessee, there are races that were decided by only a handful of votes.
The first step in becoming a voter is to register to vote. You can register to vote, update your address or check your registration status with the Secretary of State’s fast, easy and secure online voter registration system, GoVoteTN.gov.
Using a computer, phone or tablet, any U.S. citizen with a driver’s license or a photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security can register in minutes at GoVoteTN.gov. A paper voter registration application is also available to download at GoVoteTN.gov.
For more information about how to register to vote, go to GoVoteTN.gov or call the Division of Elections at 1-877-850-4959.
