Cobblestone Hotel Coming to Humboldt’s Village Commons, Projected to Deliver $26 Million in Economic Impact
Feasibility study supports upper-midscale hotel at growing mixed-use development
HUMBOLDT, Tenn., [June 17, 2026] — A new Cobblestone Hotels-branded property of 70-90 rooms is being planned for Village Commons, the mixed-use development reshaping Humboldt’s commercial corridor. A recently completed feasibility study projects the hotel will generate $26 million in total economic impact over its first five years of operation.
The study found that the City of Humboldt and the greater Gibson County area can support an upper-midscale to upscale hotel, with existing lodging demand currently being absorbed by hotels in surrounding markets. The new property will serve business travelers, families, event attendees, and regional guests who today have limited local options.
Village Commons is envisioned as a catalyst for long-term growth in Humboldt, bringing together retail, dining, recreation, hospitality, and community-focused uses into a single connected destination. The hotel adds a key piece to that vision, anchoring overnight visitor activity alongside the development’s other tenants.
“For years, visitors coming to Humboldt for our employers, our events, and the Strawberry Festival have been booking rooms in other towns and taking that spending with them,” said Amanda Love, CEO & President of the Humboldt Chamber of Commerce. “This hotel keeps that activity here, supports our existing businesses, and gives Village Commons the kind of anchor that drives the next wave of investment.”
Humboldt’s demand drivers—major employers, manufacturing, agriculture, retail activity, and signature events such as the West Tennessee Strawberry Festival—generate year-round lodging needs. Community feedback has reinforced the case: nearly all surveyed local businesses and stakeholders identified better lodging as a clear priority for serving customers, vendors, and visiting families.
The development team will continue working with local leadership, economic development partners, and community stakeholders as planning advances. Additional details on the timeline and design will be shared in the coming months.
