There was a GREAT turnout for the Humboldt Chamber Annual Membership Banquet last Thursday night at Crenshaw’s Event Barn. Approximately 240 members braved the heat to enjoy music by Mandy Vixen & Gas Station Chicken, catering by Crenshaw’s and a fun evening of door prizes, raffles, auctions, games and superlative awards. Melissa Swingler – President of the 81st Strawberry Festival – passed her keys to Chelsea Caraway – President of the 82nd Strawberry Festival – in the annual Festival Ceremony.
The announcement was also made to the members who were present, that Anna Surratt – the Chamber’s Events Coordinator – would be leaving at the end of October. It was a tough announcement, as we care deeply for our friend and colleague, but we’re thrilled for her as she, Timothy and the twins pursue a new life in Chattanooga. The Chamber and Anna’s mother Georgann McFarland both presented her with gifts as the entire room gave Anna the standing ovation she so richly deserves.
Beth Culpepper – the current Administrative Coordinator at the Chamber – will take over the position of Events Coordinator. There couldn’t have been a better choice. Beth is deeply involved in the Festival and other events already, and will do an outstanding job.
We would like to once again thank our sponsors for this year – 1Tennessee, Centennial Bank, Dana Corporation, Humboldt Utilities, Jones Family of Companies, King Tire Company, Simmons Bank and Tyson Foods.
