Utilities
Utility Services
One of the advantages to living in Humboldt, Tennessee is access to an abundant supply of affordable, reliable energy and water sources. This is due to being located in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and our location atop on of the country’s largest and best natural underground aquifers.
Humboldt Utilities Authority is a “one-stop shop” for the city’s utility services, providing electricity, gas, water, waste water services and fiber internet under one utility provider. It is a municipal entity formed for the benefit of the residents of Humboldt, and operates under the governance of a five-member Board of Public Utilities.
Customers of Humboldt Utilities consistently enjoy some of the lowest electric rates in the entire TVA region, and the water system is one of the few in Tennessee to receive a rating of 100.
Find out more about rates and services on their website.
Cable, Internet, and Telephone Services
Humboldt is proud to be a “Gig City” with 1 gigabit per second fiber internet available for home and business. Humboldt Utilities will be offering up to 10GB of fiber line to businesses in 2026.
Humboldt Utilities, Aeneas Internet and Telephone, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and Spectrum provide phone and internet service for Humboldt. Spectrum also provides cable services.
